As part of the acquittal of this grant Gisborne Soccer Club was required to contribute a further minimum of $30,000.00 towards the project. Our contribution was the new shed, which has increased our storage capacity and allowed for the removal of the old referee’s room to extend the back changeroom.

PAVILION RENOVATION

(14 September 2020):

Works have now commenced on the refurbishment of the original Dixon Field pavilion.

Initially built in the mid 1980’s as a part of the regions bush fire recovery program, these works are crucial to seeing the buildings life extended.

Changes to the configuration of the pavilion will see:

  • New public toilets (with new entry points) for both male and female patrons

  • Removal of the old referee room to create a full-size change room, bringing the number of full-size change rooms from 3 to 4

  • New toilets designated to the 2 full-size change rooms

  • Extension of current concrete paths to connect to the new shed

This projects majority funding has come from the Federal Governments Sport Australia's Community Sport Infrastructure Program, with the project being awarded a grant of $300,000.00 in 2018. As part of the acquittal of this grant Gisborne Soccer Club was required to contribute a further minimum of $30,000.00 towards the project.

Our contribution to this project was to build the new shed, which has increased our storage capacity. The now former committee had identified that more storage was required given the growth of the club and the planned removal of the former referee’s room, which had been used for storage since the opening of the new pavilion in 2016.

UPDATE (15 September 2015):

The user group feedback obtained over a number of meetings has played a key role in the development of the final product

Following the final design user group meeting on 11 August 2015, Council submitted the plans to the Football Federation Victoria and Sport and Recreation Victoria for consideration as per the grant funding contract conditions. We have recently received approval and endorsement of the final design.

Council is now busy preparing the required tender documentation for the construction phase of the project and as a courtesy we will be in touch with all user groups when the tender is advertised.
