Victorian Government’s Fair Play Code
The Victorian Government’s Fair Play Code outlines behaviours that are expected of every person involved in community sport and active recreation, as well as identifying the types of behaviours that will not be tolerated.
Every person: spectator, player, club member, official, participant, administrator, coach, parent or member of the community involved with the sport, should work to ensure:
- inclusion of every person regardless of their age, gender or sexual orientation
- inclusion of every person regardless of their race, culture or religion
- opportunities for people of all abilities to participate in the sport and develop to their full potential
- respect is shown towards others, the club and the broader community
- a safe and inclusive environment for all
- elimination of violent and abusive behaviour
- protection from sexual harassment or intimidation
The Code applies to community sport, training and club sanctioned activities.
FV however have incorporated specific Codes of Behaviour that everyone must be strictly abide by.
It is vital that everyone involved in sporting activities, whether they are athletes, coaches, parents, officials or supporters understand their responsibilities to ensure that all participants enjoy the sport.
Failure to comply with any of the Codes of Behaviour below, will be met with sanctions, as outlined in the FV GDT By-Law.

Gisborne Soccer Club’s commitment to child safety
Our organisation is committed to promoting wellbeing for life for all families, particularly as a way of supporting a child’s potential including their rights for protection and safety.
This commitment is achieved through our support to children and their families to ensure their safety, participation and empowerment to reach their potential, including all aspects of life –their home and community environments.
Our organisation is committed to preventing child abuse and identifying risks early, and removing and reducing these risks.
We accept our legal and moral obligations to contact authorities when we are worried about a child’s safety.
We do this by having a zero tolerance of child abuse, all allegations and safety concerns are treated very seriously and consistently.
Our organisation maintains its long-held commitment to inclusive practice – and therefore the cultural safety of all children irrespective of cultures, faiths, genders, identities and abilities is of paramount focus.
This includes the cultural safety of Aboriginal children, the cultural safety of children from a culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, and to providing a safe environment for children with a disability.
